Is the Emma Original Elite the same mattress as the Emma Hybrid Elite?

Yes. The model previously known as the Emma Hybrid Elite has been renamed by the manufacturer as the Emma Original Elite, retaining exactly the same features, materials, and technologies.

What is Emma AirGrid® technology?

AirGrid® is a hyper-elastic gel technology, unique to Spain, that immediately adapts to body movements during the night. It relieves pressure points at the shoulders, back, and hips, and promotes breathability through efficient air circulation. Thousands of air pockets encapsulated within its cells provide a sensation of sleeping in 'zero gravity'.

What firmness does the Emma Original Elite have?

Medium firmness. It is optimised to perform best for body weights between 60 and 100 kg. Those under 60 kg may find it slightly firmer, while those over 100 kg may find it slightly softer due to natural compression.

Is the Emma Original Elite reversible?

No. It is a single-sided mattress, designed to always be used in the same orientation.

How long does it take to expand after being removed from the box?

The mattress arrives vacuum-compressed inside a box. After unpacking, it takes approximately 5 hours to expand before use, and reaches full recovery within 24 hours.

Is it normal for it to smell when unboxed?

Yes, it is completely normal for a slight new-product odour to be released after opening the vacuum seal. It will disappear within a few days by airing the room well.

Can the cover of the Emma Original Elite be washed?

Yes. The UltraDry™ cover is fully removable and machine washable at a maximum of 40°C. It should not be ironed, tumble dried, or treated with bleach.

How many trial nights does it include, and what warranty comes with it?

It includes 100 trial nights in your own home and an official 10-year manufacturer's warranty.

How has the durability of the mattress been tested?

The core has been tested in Emma's laboratory by continuously rolling a 140 kg roller over the mattress, simulating the equivalent wear of 10 years of use, without the mattress deforming.

Where does the Emma Original Elite sit within the Emma mattress range?

The Original Elite is Emma's flagship hybrid model, distinguished by its exclusive AirGrid® gel technology. Emma also offers other models in its catalogue (such as the Fusion Fresh Hybrid and Diamond, among others) aimed at different needs: allergies, different firmness levels, or tighter budgets. Details

The Emma Original Elite Mattress is Emma's high-end hybrid model, recognised as Product of the Year 2026 for its innovation. Formerly known as the Emma Hybrid Elite, this mattress combines in a single 7-layer structure an Infinity Spring pocket spring core with 7 comfort zones, state-of-the-art technical foams and Emma's revolutionary hyper-elastic gel technology, Emma AirGrid®, unique in Spain.

AirGrid® technology is what really sets this model apart: a gel layer that instantly adapts to the body's movements, relieving pressure points in the shoulders, back and hips with a feeling Emma describes as 'zero gravity'. Thousands of air pockets encapsulated in each cell of the gel grid provide a soft, cool feel, recovering instantly every time you change position during the night, with no effort and no interruptions to your sleep.

Beneath the AirGrid® layer, the ultra-soft Aerofoam adapts the shape of the mattress to the body and helps dissipate moisture, while the MemoryAdapt memory foam distributes weight evenly across multiple zones for complete relaxation. The SupportBase foam adds medium firmness that prevents the mattress from sagging over the years, and the Infinity Spring pocket spring core completes the structure with tailored support in 7 zones, from head to toe.

With a total height of 27 cm and medium firmness, the Emma Original Elite is optimised for people weighing between 60 and 100 kg, offering a balance between immediate softness and firm support right to the edge thanks to its state-of-the-art foam perimeter reinforcement, which lets you use 100% of the mattress surface.

The mattress arrives rolled up in a box: once unpacked, it expands in approximately 5 hours and fully recovers its shape within 24 hours. Its UltraDry™ cover is breathable, soft to the touch and fully removable, machine washable at a maximum of 40°C. Available at Colchón Exprés with a 100-night trial with a refund.

In addition, the Emma Original Elite Mattress comes with a 10-year commercial durability guarantee offered by the manufacturer Emma, at no additional cost and covering the entire mattress. This guarantee is independent of the 3-year legal guarantee and does not affect your consumer rights in any way.
