Does the antibacterial effect of Zinc Oxide wash out over time?

No — it is permanent. Zinc Oxide is not a chemical treatment sprayed onto the fabric; it is embedded directly into the fibres of the material (Smartcel technology). As a result, its hygienic, cosmetic, and odour-neutralising properties last for the entire lifespan of the product, no matter how many times you wash it.

Can I sleep directly on it, or do I need to put another decorative pillowcase on top?

You can use it either way. Tencel fabric is extremely soft and silky, and has been clinically tested for sensitive skin (including dermatitis). You can sleep directly on it just as you would with a regular pillowcase. However, if you prefer to match it with your bedding, you can place your decorative pillowcase on top without it losing any of its waterproof properties.

How should it be washed? Can it go in the tumble dryer?

Yes — maintenance is very straightforward. It is machine washable at high temperatures (up to 90°C), which is ideal for eliminating dust mites and disinfecting after illness.
